“A Talk with Dr. Nicholas Bergman about the NBACC and biodefense”

BIO:

Dr. Bergman is the Director of the National Biodefense Analysis and Countermeasures Center (NBACC), a national laboratory in Frederick, MD, funded jointly by the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The NBACC is the United States’ only national security-focused biocontainment laboratory and houses two independent science centers, the National Biological Threat Characterization Center (NBTCC) and the National Bioforensic Analysis Center (NBFAC). They do work at BSL-0 through BSL-4 for a wide range of partners, including HHS, DoD, the Law Enforcement and Intelligence communities, and the United Nations. Dr. Bergman will give an introduction to NBACC and describe some examples of the kinds of work they do.
